PUTRAJAYA: Ten Malaysian university undergraduate were selected for the Ministry of Education (MoE)-Huawei’s ‘Seeds for the Future Programme 2019’ last weekend.

Logasshini Nilavezhilan, a final-year student from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas)’s Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology was among the top 10 picks for the programme in China, scheduled to run from June 28 to July 13.

According to a Unimas press statement, this sixth flagship annual programme by Huawei would have students undergoing an intensive one-week cultural and language awareness training in Beijing, followed by another week-long intensive information and communications technology (ICT) training at Huawei headquarters in Shenzhen.

“Students would get the opportunity to learn the latest ICT from Huawei, boosting their future career prospects and general knowledge.”

This year, 30 finalists from 19 universities had been selected out from a total of 1,912 undergraduates who took part in ‘Seeds Talk 2019’ in Putrajaya last week, and there were awarded with certificates by Deputy Minister of Education Teo Nie Ching.

Logasshini and two of her course-mates, Wong Jun Ta and Zul’ Aizat, joined other finalists in Putrajaya last week for the final.
