KUCHING: Serba Dinamik Sdn Bhd has landed contracts worth RM313 mln for onshore maintenance construction and modification services in Sarawak.
The contracts were inked between Serba Dinamik Sdn Bhd and Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd, in a ceremony witnessed by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg here today.
The contracts involved Package D (Bintulu-Sarawak Gas) and Package E ( Miri-Sarawak Oil) onshore facilities in Miri Crude Oil Terminal and Adam Paya Onshore Facility; and Bintulu Integrated Facilities.
Dato Dr Ir Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah, the group chief executive officer of Serba Dinamik Holdings Berhad, said Serba Dinamik, an established and renowned international energy services group, was given
the contract for a period of three years effective from Dec 12, 2018, with an option to extend a further two years.
“The company will provide all the supervision, procedures, labour, pre-fabrication and erection, materials, equipment, facilities, including transport to the point of embarkation, logistics services and all other related services that are necessary to complete the onshore maintenance, construction and modification services.”
Abdul Karim also expressed his appreciation to Petronas for the opportunity to work together, ever since.
“We are appreciative of the support from Petronas and the confidence they have in us, as evidenced by the awarding of these contracts to the company.
“The contracts in Miri and Bintulu awarded to us reflect our good track record, which shows the quality of work and timely delivery without comprising on the safety aspects,” he added.
He also pointed out that the company has appointed two local Oil and Gas Service and Equipment (OSGE) companies under the Petronas VDPx programme, a spin-off of Petronas’ existing Vendor Development Programme (VDP), which empowers and upskills local companies in order to increase their competitiveness in the open market.
The two companies, Roptech Sdn Bhd and Eastwind Solutions Sdn Bhd, will receive guidance and membership from Serbia Dinamik Holdings Berhad – they will undergo capability-building programmes designed and monitored by Petronas.
Abdul Karim also pointed out that in 2017, about 65 per cent of Serba Dinamik’s revenue was contributed by its overseas operations, while 35 per cent was from Malaysia with a total of RM8.3 bln.
Meanwhile, Petronas president and group chief executive officer Tan Sri Wan Zukiee Wan Arrin highlighted that Petronas will continue to support local oil and gas players for the benet of the people in Sarawak.
“Today’s signing ceremony is a culmination of hard work and goodwill between many parties. It is also a demonstration of Petronas’ commitment to the development of the local oil and gas industry and players in Sarawak.”
