KUCHING: The Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) has commended Serba Dinamik Group’s efforts in creating a virtual reality (VR) park in Kota Samarahan for the benefit of the people in the area and beyond.
“All big and successful business groups should emulate Serba Dinamik Group’s actions in doing good for the society,” urged MPKS chairman Datuk Peter Minos yesterday.
He said that representatives from Serba Dinamik Group had met with and briefed MPKS councillors and senior staff members on their upcoming virtual reality park D-Virtual Park, located in Kota Samarahan on the way to Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak’s old campus.
He said that Serba Dinamik was among the largest oil and gas companies in Malaysia and they were creating D-Virtual Park at a cost of over RM10mil as its corporate social responsibility (CSR) project.
“The VR park will have everything of the computer world in entertainment — games and sports, especially for the youths not just in Samarahan but in the whole of Sarawak,” he said.
According to him, the park was in line with the state government’s aim of promoting the digital world.
Minos said it would also be an attraction to tourists, visitors, and budding young entrepreneurs.
“It will be ready by April — just come over and be thrilled by what the VR park offers. It is something very new; the very latest and most revolutionary in the modern world of cyber and computers.
“MPKS is very pleased that Serba Dinamik has chosen Kota Samarahan for this project. We will reciprocate by assisting in the cleanliness and upkeep of the park area and doing what is necessary to support it,” he said.
