PETALING JAYA: At least two more locally listed companies have jumped on the bandwagon to explore new opportunities stemming from the escalating US-China trade war. According to PIE group managing director Alvin Mui(pic), some of these projects came to PIE as a result of the US-China trade war. “Some multi-national corporations in China are giving us the projects so that they can ship the products to the US from Malaysia,” he said. Penang-based PIE Industrial Bhd is negotiating to secure electronic manufacturing projects with China-based parties while Johor-based furniture maker Wegmans Holdings Bhd is said to be in talks with China partners who are keen to use the latter’s facilities in Malaysia for their future exports. Wegmans officials also recently said that the company has continued to receive high number…

Last week was a very exciting week for us as we welcome our fellow members from Enactus Foothill College. The reason for their visit coming down all the way from California, U.S.A is for the collaborative initiative of the ongoing eco-brick project at Wizkids Extended Care Centre and to conduct an Innovation Bootcamp with a group of students from SMJK Kuching High. The 3-day session among the students of both Enactus Foothill College and also Kuching High School shows the initiative of Enactus Foothill College to do an Innovation Bootcamp where they learn how to do critical thinking on reaching solutions for a problem within the community in Kuching.  Not only that, they have visited places that Enactus Unimas has laid their projects on such as helping Sarawak Eco Brick…

The State Government is proud to host the 3rd International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak, IDECS. This conference will take place from 8th July 2019 to 9th July 2019, at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, Sarawak. Gago and Timogah were having booths together at BCCK. A nice sharing from Dr. Michio Kaku on the stage. That time, I was given the opportunity to question. I asked him: “Will happiness can be replaced by Artificial Intelligence?”. Dr. Michio Kaku replied:” Yes or No, last time our ancestors have to go through muddy road and radios. Rich people will be traveling with horses. Nowadays, we mostly have everything and yet we complain about everything”. Somehow, we still need to teach our younger generations, teaching them about moral values. Artificial Intelligence cannot replace creativity…
