KUCHING, 9 APR: StartUp Borneo committees were invited to present on vision and initiatives of StartUp Borneo.
Ministry of International Trade & eCommerce Sarawak (MITeC) upon recommendation from University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) extended an invitation to StartUp Borneo to present to the State Government officials at Bangunan Baitulmakmur Medan Raya, Petra Jaya.
The arrangement was done in order for MITeC to better understand the initiatives which StartUp Borneo has executed to benefit the local Sarawakians.
The Sarawak State Government is supportive and looking forward to assist in the programme initiated by StartUp Borneo. On top of that, in order to show support, MITeC has planned to provide some funding opportunity as well as promoting StartUp Borneo through the various government bodies in order for more locals to participate and nurturing more startup entrepreneurs and creators.
As of 1st April, StartUp Borneo has officially launched their program which comprises of 10 categories that include Smart Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Smart City, Industry 4.0, E-Commerce and Blockchain/FinTech, Smart Healthcare, Smart Logistics, Smart Manufacturing, and Creative Arts and Design.
According to Abdul Qaiyum Alidin, Chairman of StartUp Borneo, the response since launching has been very encouraging and he expects more applications to come in once full scale advertisement is launched by early May.
