KAPIT: This district swept both major categories at the annual ‘Inter-District Primary and Secondary Schools Sports 2019’, which took place at Song Sports Field recently.
SMK Kapit athletes outperformed their contenders and gained 354 points, earning them the overall secondary school championship title for this year.
SMK Song collected 330 points to become first runner-up, while SMK Katibas bagged 281 points to finish third.
SMK Kapit 2 (247 points), SMK Selirik (203 points), SMK Baleh (103 points) and SMK Song 2 (34 points) placed respective fourth to seventh.
In the primary school category, the contingent representing Kapit District Schools Sports Council (MSSD) accumulated 283.4 points to become overall champion, while their only contender MSSD Song gathered 243.5 points to become runner-up.
The annual district-level sports event was held to select representatives for the divisional event, organised and run by the Education Department.
