KUCHING (7 July 2017): The Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI) – Swinburne Research Scholarship Awards was held yesterday at the Lecture Theatre. The 7 recipients of the scholarship were Robin Xavier Mowe, Jackson Wong Joon Shee, Abdul Qaiyum Aidil, Mohamad Izuan, Naresh Jeyapalan, Chai Poh Chun, and Michelle Kuek Shu Wun.

The scholarship is awarded to candidates who are part of the Masters by Research program in conjunction with the collaborative research partnership between MAI and Swinburne that was formalised in 2016. There are currently 20 full scholarships available for the program, 7 of which were awarded at the event.

The automotive research partnership between MAI and Swinburne aims to address the transport and mobility needs of the population in the ASEAN region, leveraging on both parties’ experience and MAI’s network in the transportation industry.

Swinburne Chancellor Graham Goldsmith, MAI Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dato’ Madani Sahari, Swinburne Sarawak CEO Professor Janet Gregory and Swinburne Pro vice-Chancellor (International Research Engagement and Development) Professor Ajay Kapoor were present.
