24-Year-Old Is The First Malaysian To Receive A US University’s Highest Engineering Award

Saiful, who is a Public Service Department (JPA) scholar, was awarded the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences’ Engineering Honor Marshal on Friday, May 3.

He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, with a Minor in Energy Business and Finance.

Additionally, the JPA scholar achieved a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.0.

“Saiful Hakimi has demonstrated his academic achievements considerably, as well as strong leadership skill throughout college, in addition to the various initiatives he has taken beyond [the] academic classroom,” representatives of the University said, according to JPA’s statement.

Saiful’s parents were present during the auspicious event.

In a video speech posted to JPA’s Facebook page, Saiful expressed his thanks to the Department for sponsoring him and his friends for the last four years.

“This award is the culmination of hard work and effort, and also support from my friends and family, not forgetting the sponsorship from JPA,” he continued.

“Terima kasih, JPA. Terima kasih, Malaysia.” (Thank you, JPA. Thank you, Malaysia).
